Entain seeks new CMO for UK brands following Emery exit

SBC News13h ago

Entain Plc has confirmed the departure of Charlotte Emery as Chief Marketing Officer for its UK brands, with the FTSE 250 gambling group launching an executive search for her successor.

The new CMO will oversee the strategic direction of marketing, media planning and brand development across Entain’s UK portfolio, including flagship brands Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala and Foxy Bingo.

Emery departs on mutually agreed terms, with Entain thanking her for leading a series of high-profile marketing initiatives during her two-year tenure.

Among her most significant projects was the overhaul of Entain’s UK agency roster. In June 2025, the group appointed Atomic London as Ladbrokes’ lead creative agency following a competitive review overseen by Emery.

Later in 2025, Entain concluded a review of its estimated £90m UK and Ireland media account, appointing PHD (Omnicom Media Group) to replace long-standing incumbent the7stars across Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala and Foxy Bingo.

A dedicated athlete, Emery made national headlines in 2025 as one of the amateur jockeys selected to ride in the Markel Magnolia Cup at Glorious Goodwood. Her fundraising campaign, supported by Coral UK, helped raise more than £56,000 for The King’s Trust International, funding education and training programmes for young women in the world’s poorest communities.

Bejay Patel , Managing Director of Entain UK and Ireland, paid tribute to Emery’s contribution: “Charlotte has played a significant role in the continued growth and development of our UK brands – Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala and Foxy.

“Charlotte lead the marketing function with passion and energy over the last two years. We would like to thank her for her contribution and wish her every success in the future.”

The leadership change comes as Entain continues a broader efficiency programme under Chief Executive Stella David.

Last week, the group confirmed plans to reduce its global workforce by around 500 roles as part of a company-wide cost review. However, Entain has not announced any redundancies within its UK marketing division, with recruitment for Emery’s replacement already underway.

The appointment comes as Entain reviews its UK strategy and the financing of its key brands as part of its 2026 transformation.

Leadership is seeking to position Ladbrokes and Coral to regain and strengthen its market share from 2027 onwards, following significant adjustments to the UK’s iGaming landscape under the new 40% Remote Gambling Duty (RGD) regime
