Genetic Jewels sale to feature 65 in-lamb Charollais on November 7

Blessington Mart in Co. Wicklow is set to host the Genetic Jewels sale on Saturday, November 7.
A total of 65 in-lamb pedigree Charollais hoggets and ewe lambs are catalogued and the sale “promises to be an excellent chance to obtain some of the best Charollais genetics, sourced from a selection of Ireland’s top-performing flocks”.
Kicking off at 12:30pm, the sale is set to include consignments from award-winning flocks including:
Rockdale;
Attiknockan;
Bawnard;
Calhame;
Turret;
Clonboyher.
Several of these flocks have bred progeny that have gone on to win All-Ireland Champion titles in their own right.
Many have also enjoyed All-Ireland success themselves, while producing progeny that have achieved record-breaking sale prices over the years.
2025 Genetic Jewels sale
The inaugural Genetic Jewels sale took place last year and the top price went a ewe lamb from David Argue’s Rockdale flock, sired by Hillside Big Al.
Her grand dam was the great Dalby ewe that has been one of the most prominent females within the Rockdale flock over the past few years.
Bawnard Charollais have a selection of ewes available served by a range of rams, including Duiske Droichead, who was the top-priced shearling at this year’s Premier Sale.

Service sire for the Attiknockan females is Gorteen Dragonfly, the first-prize winning January Ram in the Dungannon Sale in 2025.
David Argue’s Rockdale flock has three full sisters to last year’s sale topper catalogued, all granddaughters of their renowned Dalby ewe.
From the Turret flock, many of the ewes entered are in lamb to Wexfo Caemlot, All Ireland Champion Hogget Ram 2025.
The Clonboyher flock’s ewes are served to the proven ram Kellistown Verewolf, who has sired champion progeny north and south of the border.
The Calhame flock has a group of ewes forward sired by a ram from the renowned Artnigullion flock, Artnigullion Braverheart, with the in-lamb ewes served by Rockdale Bravado.
The organisers confirmed that the sale is export-eligible, and are encouraging anyone interested in sourcing quality pedigree Charollais genetics to view the sale catalogue here .
They commented: “Whether you are looking to strengthen your existing flock or invest in future champions, this sale offers an excellent opportunity to purchase outstanding females, backed by generations of careful and considered breeding.”
